COMPLETE DENTURES
Complete dentures are constructed following the removal of all the dentition. This restoration allows for replacement of all the upper and lower teeth in a removable prosthesis. Generally, the shape and color of the new teeth can be matched to previous dentition if the wish is explained to the dentist before the procedure begins.

PARTIAL DENTURES
Much like complete dentures, partial dentures can replace a large number of teeth with one prosthesis. A partial denture generally crosses to the opposite side of the arch and is connected by a metal framework. Under certain circumstances a partial denture can be constructed without using metal. Unlike the complete denture, the partial denture is used along with remaining teeth. The remaining teeth are used as anchor teeth to help retention of the prosthesis.

IMPLANT SUPPORTED DENTURES
This is one of the greatest advancements in modern dentistry. A complete upper and lower denture is constructed. 2 to 4 implants are placed in the remaining bone with some small attachments allowing the denture to "snap" on to the implants. This is the most retentive mechanism for complete dentures.
